DARA Ó BRIAIN IN CONVERSATION WITH PAULINE MCLYNN

We are delighted to invite all of our paying members and their guests to join us for lunch on 13 December – book now via Eventbrite or ask to reserve your place via PayPal in order to avoid disappointment. Final tickets on sale now!

On 13 December we welcome world-renowned comedian, Dara Ó Briain, in conversation with his friend and brilliant actress, Pauline McLynn. This will be no ordinary interview – with these two heads together, we’ll have an exclusive treat to kick off our holiday season.

This incredible afternoon will take place at the Waldorf Hilton, Aldwych, London, with a drinks reception at 12 noon, followed by a delicious lunch with wine. We’ll enjoy a verbal adventure from Dara and Pauline that will no doubt be unforgettable!

Tickets will be available individually, as well as by booking a table, where a WIN member might like to host a group as hospitality for their own business, colleagues or friends.

To receive the members’ link to purchase individual tickets on Eventbrite, please email: enquiries@womensirishnetwork.com

There are also a limited number of premium tables available; featuring best seats, premium wines, special goody bags and corporate logo on event materials. For premium and regular tables of 10, please email: womensirishnetwork@gmail.com

We recognise that this event is more expensive than our others, by necessity, to cover the costs of a venue large enough for the occasion, so we’re introducing a new feature to the group. For anyone wishing to make payments in instalments, for any reason, please just ask to be sent a PayPal invoice.
( enquiries@womensirishnetwork.com )

You may pay in instalments at any times that suit you, prior to the event. This method may also work best for those of you who have asked to split invoices, as your employer has offered to pay 50% of your networking costs. We want to do everything we can to make this event accessible to WIN members.

Many thanks to Arthur Cox, Enterprise Ireland, HSBC and Strange Music for their generous support!

  • 🎭Why Shouldn’t I Go? Written and performed by Janet Behan, Directed by Jessica Higgs. 🎟November 14 – 16, London Irish Centre, Tickets £11.37

In the play three very different women, each of whom grew up in Ireland in the sixties, tell their stories — at some points very funny, at others, heartbreaking.
Funny and shocking by turns, “Why Shouldn’t I Go?” tells the stories of three very different Irishwomen with one thing in common – religion and the impact it has had on their lives.
In Realtine our heroine has joined a creative writing class but a long-buried secret has so far prevented her from writing a word. Today her story comes pouring out —'So one day a nun comes to the school. A beautiful creature from the Poor Clare. Not many women can look beautiful in a nun's habit.' Reclusive Noreen rails against her daughter, husband and neighbours for ruining her life; in reality her life was ruined years before, when she was little more than a child —'Come near me again with that thing and I’ll chop it off for you! You won’t be so big when I’ve Cinished with you, I’m telling you boy! I’ll chop it off for you, CHOP, CHOP, CHOP!' Susan, wife of the town’s highly respected pastor, realises she’s pregnant. The townsfolk offer hearty congratulations to their beloved pastor but are they misplaced? —‘On our wedding night, after the driest of dry dos, I lay, eyes shut, in the bridal suite of the Causeway Hotel, waiting for the Cireworks to commence . . . ‘

Not many Monday mornings start like this, but what a pleasure to interview the fabulous Oriole Cullen, curator of Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams at the Women’s Irish Network breakfast bright and early today. #oriolecullen @winwomenuk #irishinlondon
  • ✨Funny, articulate and extremely down to earth - it was a pleasure to hear Oriole Cullen’s journey to become the curator of Dior’s Designer of Dreams exhibition at @V_and_A and learn about her view of the art & design world today.
“The world is in tumultuous times.
The title of the show [Designer of Dreams] represented escapism, because Dior became a representative of a new world after the hardships of war. His story is a very positive one.” Oriole Cullen at our #BusinessBreakfast.
A special thank you to all the new people who joined our event today, and the renowned Orla Kiely who is a great supporter and @marieclairetrish who interviews Oriole- it was a full house of 70 at @CorriganMayfair and it was a pleasure to meet you all!
