International Women’s Day hosted by the Embassy of Ireland

The Ambassador of Ireland, Mr Adrian O’Neill and Mrs Aisling O’Neill will host a reception with the Women’s Irish Network on 3 March at 6pm.

We are delighted to be joining the Embassy of Ireland for their International Women’s Day celebrations with guest speaker Jane Ní Dhulchaointigh, Inventor and CEO of Sugru.

All current WIN members are invited to attend and should have now received their invitations directly from the Embassy of Ireland. The event free but subject to availability and RSVP is mandatory.

If you are not a member and would like to attend, you can join or renew before Wednesday 19 February. You will then receive your invitation directly from the Embassy on Friday 21st February. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so don’t delay!

If you are a current member but have not yet received your invitation, please enquiries@womensirishnetwork.com.

About Jane

Jane Ní Dhulchaointigh is the inventor and CEO of Sugru, the world’s first mouldable glue. Originally from Ireland, Jane studied at the Royal College of Art in London, where she had an idea that led to the first version of Sugru in 2003. While there, she imagined a world where this magic material existed and set out to make it a reality.

Six years and 8,000 lab hours later, the formula for Sugru was complete. Made in London, Sugru launched in December 2009 and its community of users has continued to grow, with 20 million mini packs reaching people in over 175 countries worldwide.

Jane is passionate about promoting a culture of creativity and resourcefulness, and sees it as an antidote to the throwaway mindset. Her mission is hitting a chord with the growing number of people looking to live more sustainably whilst doing what they love.

Sugru has received recognition from TIME Magazine as one of ‘The 50 Best Inventions of 2010’ and has been dubbed the “21st century duct tape” by Forbes. Jane has won many awards including the inaugural London Design Festival Design Entrepreneur award whilst the Observer listed Sugru as one of Britain’s New Radicals: a UK business changing the world for the better. In 2018 Jane won a prestigious European Inventor Award, in recognition of her ‘success in
establishing a unique and sustainable consumer product.’
